Support in low-and middle-income countries (LMIC)

Why is Penta supporting international cooperation projects in LMICs

Since the early 2000’s, Penta has been involved in the management of several international cooperation projects in low- and middle-income countries, in partnership with different Italian and international NGOs, such as “Casa Accoglienza alla Vita Padre Angelo” and various hospitals and associations in Eastern Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa. These initiatives aim to reduce mortality and improve the health conditions and the quality of life of children and adolescents living with HIV and their families.

How is Penta supporting international cooperation projects in LMICs

We run the Action for Life project with support from our partners. Action for Life targets the health and psycho-social conditions of children and adolescents living with HIV, by supporting clinical activities, sports and cultural activities, as well as professional trainings.

Recently we have devoted particular attention to:

  • Supplying equipment and drugs, medical trainings and structural interventions
  • Building the expertise of our local partners in the conduct of research projects through the implementation of our projects
  • Raising awareness in communities and consolidating links of mutual respect within the family about domestic and gender-based violence
  • The fight against HIV stigma by supporting adolescents living with HIV and engaging with the communities they live in.
