The ECCI congenital cytomegalovirus Registry is a database capturing detailed data on babies with a confirmed diagnosis of congenital CMV in Europe including route of presentation, investigations, treatment and longer term outcomes. ECCI consists of 22 collaborating institutions from Italy and the UK.
Through European collaboration within the well-established Penta ID network, detailed data analysis of a large cohort of babies within Europe can help better define severity and impact of disease following diagnosis at different stages in the clinical pathway. It is hoped that the data entered will provide a firm base for conducting both interventional studies and studies of potential biomarkers for longer-term morbidity.
ECCI is currently sustained by voluntary contributions from researchers at SGUL and the Penta Network.
