In brief

In a word, collaboration. Dr. Addy highlights the lesson learned from her experience in establishing a clinic that saw the reduction of vertical transmission of HIV in Uganda.

  • Rallying the community through thoughtful engagements and innovation
  • Collaborate with several partnerships, public and private. This is crucial if you want to scale your work quickly.
  • Document all the lessons learned as you go. If possible, work with the government to turn these lessons into policies.
  • Test your ideas by implementing them in the communities, measuring them, scaling them, and collaborating.
