Today the city of St. Petersburg, Russia welcomes over 40 partners for the REACH Kick-off Meeting (11th-12th February). REACH is a H2020 project, approved and funded by the European Commission, and coordinated by Penta. It will focus on the global health response to the epidemics of HIV, HCV and TB in pregnant women, children and adolescents in Russia and the broader European region.
REACH (Russian European Alliance for research among women, Children and adolescents impacted by HIV, TB and HCV) endeavours to optimise the impact of innovations in diagnostics and treatment through targeted joint research to these priority populations. It will facilitate the exchange of knowledge and fill data gaps, build capacity and prepare for future collaborative research on HIV, HCV an TB. The project builds on the long-standing, successful collaboration between European clinical research networks, with track records of delivering innovative research across these three infections with leading collaborators from 7 centres of excellence in Siberian, Northwestern and Central districts of the Russian Federation.
With plenty to discuss on the agenda, we look forward to a fruitful two days together and a promising start to this exciting new project!
