Strengthening Asian partnerships for children’s health: Penta visits Chiang Mai University’s Faculty of Medicine

20 Nov, 2025

On 31 October, a Penta delegation travelled to Chiang Mai, Thailand to meet with Thai collaborators. The meeting was hosted at the Faculty of Medicine at Chiang Mai University, the first medical school in Thailand located outside Bangkok, and a renowned centre for excellence in medical education, research and patient care. The institution’s long-standing commitment to quality and innovation made it an ideal setting for exploring new avenues of collaboration.

Penta’s partnership with Thai institutions has deep roots, with recent joint activities including the participation of Thai cohorts in EPPICC, the THAI-CARES RSV study, D3 and VERDI. During the visit, discussions focused on future opportunities to work together and further strengthen Penta’s activities across the South-Asian region. The exchange was productive, reaffirming a shared commitment to advancing global maternal and child health through strong and strategic partnerships.

We are grateful to the Thai partners for their warm welcome and look forward to building on this relationship, continuing to join efforts to improve the health of children and pregnant people affected by infectious diseases.
