Prof Adilia Warris takes top prize at ESPID 2021

The Bill Marshal award is awarded to an individual who has accomplished prominent achievements in clinical practice, teaching or research in paediatric infectious diseases.

In 2014 Adilia Warris launched, and now chairs, the European Paediatric Mycology Network (EPMyN), which aims to improve the management and understanding of paediatric fungal infections. She also leads on several European multicentre studies including the Penta funded EUROCANDY study on the clinical epidemiology of paediatric candidemia, the cASPerCF study on aspergillus infections in cystic fibrosis in the c4c project and PASOAP, a UK multicentre study assessing antifungal prescribing practices and antifungal stewardship.  She is also the leader of Penta’s scientific working group on Fungal Infections.

Having published over 170 papers in peer-reviewed journals and contributes to several book chapters, both nationally and internationally, she remains a well-respected member of the scientific community.
