Speeding up the development and approvals of new antibiotics for children

In these difficult times, it is important to remain focused on improving outcomes for children with serious multidrug-resistant infections globally.

Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) represents a substantial threat to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a large impact on the health of children worldwide. However, there is quieter limelight on the growing threat of AMR to child health.

Carlo Giaquinto, Emmanuel Roilides,  Irja Lutsar, and Mike Sharland – members of Penta ID Network, along with other international researchers have published an article to highlight this issue and call for clear steps to speed up the development and approvals of new antibiotics for children.
