[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Penta representative, Davide Bilardi, and president of ‘Casa Accoglienza alla vita Padre Angelo – ACAVPA’, Dr. Antonio Mazza, are visiting our partners in Uganda this week. The Nsambya Hospital Home Care unit, the Ggaba Parish, and MU-JHU are working closely together to coordinate important local social initiatives and programmes. The main goal of our collaboration the region is to combat HIV related stigma and to prevent the continuing problem of gender based violence among a wide group of HIV positive teenagers. At MU-JHU we’re pleased to report that a dedicated centre for adolescent support has been set up.

Since 2004 Penta has had an ongoing involvement in several projects in low and middle income countries in partnership with ACAVPA (Trento, Italy) and various associations and hospitals Sub-Saharan Africa, as well as in Eastern Europe. Activities include supply of equipment and drugs, medical trainings, structural interventions, psycho-social activities and services principally benefitting HIV-infected women, children and teenagers. These projects aim to reduce morbidity and mortality, improving healthcare quality and promoting social support, social inclusion and empowerment.
