HIV updated instantly!!!

We are both Paediatrics Residents in Makerere University College of Health Sciences. I am Ugandan, while my colleague is Tanzanian by nationality.

We expected to learn more about HIV prevention, management protocols, and future prospects. These expectations were met during the PentaTr@ining course!

Delegate – Maputo training (2019)

2020

Exciting; Informative; Inspiring

PentaTr@ining was my first training of this kind. I am a Medical Officer working with JCRC in Republic of Uganda. My background is in General Practice and Medical Research.

My expectation of the conference was to gain a broader understanding and appreciation of Paediatric and Adolescent HIV/AIDS care and management.

Delegate – Maputo training (2019)

2020

“Educative; Informative; Fruitful”

The training course added value to my work, looking at how others are tackling HIV in paediatrics in different countries and with new guidelines. My practice changed by reinforcing the new guidelines and giving a strong health education to adults in how to take care of children who are living with HIV/AIDS.

Penta Trainer – El Salvador

2020

“Science; Friendship; Sharing knowledge”

Let me tell you the story of how “the Penta Experience” changed the model of HIV care in Central America. It all started in October 2005, when three paediatric ID specialists from Panama, Ecuador and El Salvador were invited to participate in the first PentaTr@ining course in Rome.

Delegate – Johannesburg training (2019)

2020

“Educative; Inspiring; Networking”

The course added value to my work in the way that I manage exposed infants that are brought for routine or emergency care. It helped me build a relationship with our linkage team and quickly link infants and mothers to care in my practice. My professional practice has changed since the course.

Penta Trainer – Brazil

2020

“Important; Necessary; Irreplaceable”

I have been working with HIV children since the beginning of the epidemic in Brazil in 1984, president of the Association for the Aid of Children and Adolescents with HIV.

Penta Trainer – Germany

2020

Unique; Irreplaceable; Outstanding”

The main challenge/barrier to successful HIV treatment is the education of both the caregiver and the patients. It is more than understanding the effects and side-effects of anti-HIV drugs as HIV is still stigmatised all over the world. Overcoming the stigma of HIV in a sensitive and clever way is the key to treatment success. The Penta training courses do just that!
