‘PentaTr@ining 2020: HIV & other Congenital Infections’ – Sign up today!

20 Jul, 2020

We are delighted to announce that registrations are now open for our online training course ‘PentaTr@ining 2020: HIV & other Congenital Infections‘.

Building on the success and reputation of the previous Tr@inforPedHIV course, for this year’s edition we have completely revamped and updated the training content and curriculum areas covered in order to deliver a new course centered around updates in a variety of different congenital infections. We have listened to participant feedback and carefully tailored the course to the address the key issues that currently face paediatric infectious disease students and healthcare workers.

The upgraded online course promises to be highly interactive, purposely designed to kindle engagement and encourage intercommunication among the participants and faculty team. The programme comprises 6 comprehensive and thought-provoking training modules, a variety of real life clinical cases for discussion, interactive webinars and dedicated tutoring from our expert trainers.

Modules covered

  1. Mother to Child Transmission
  2. Congenital ‘SCORTCH’ Infections
  3. Children with HIV
  4. HIV Treatment in Children
  5. Complexities of HIV, co-infections and co-morbidities
  6. Adolescents, Sexual Health and ‘Living with HIV’

In light of the global COVID-19 pandemic, the residential component of the course has been deferred until further notice. As an interim measure we have planned a ‘Virtual Live Training Day’, which will take place shortly after the online course and will cover the same depth and content of the face-to-face meeting. This will be an opportunity to bring delegates and faculty members together ‘virtually’ – via a professional online platform – for a day of fun and interactive clinical case based discussions and webinar presentations!

The online course kicks off on 2nd November 2020.
